Remote Power Controllers (RPC)s

Monitor/Operate RPCs.

Add an RPC connection for each remote power controller that this device should monitor or operate. Each connection references a definition and then supplies the serial port or network address needed to reach the hardware.

New Remote Power Controller (RPC) items can be added.

Remote Power Controller (RPC)

A configured connection to one remote power controller.

• Outlets - A list of outlets provided by the RPC.

Enable the RPC for use.

The label used to describe this RPC.

Whenever this RPC is displayed, the label will be used

RPC type

The type of RPC being connected to

Select the RPC definition that matches the controller model, protocol, and connection method. The definition determines which connection fields are required.

Serial port for serial RPC connection

The device serial port connected to the RPC.

Choose the serial port physically connected to the RPC control port. The selected serial port must be configured in RPC connection mode so it is reserved for power control.

Network address for SNMP/HTTP RPC connection

The IP address/hostname assigned to the RPC.

Enter the reachable management address of the RPC. This is used by network based Powerman helpers such as SNMP or HTTP.
