DHCP client

Request IPv4 network settings from an upstream DHCP server.

The DHCP client can provide the interface address, default route, DNS servers, and other options advertised by the upstream network.

Client identifier

The identifier sent in DHCP requests.

Include this string value in the DHCP client identifier option (number 61) instead of the interface's MAC address.
